Safeguarding at Beddington Infants’
Beddington Infants’ takes notice of and adheres to all the national and local policies and guidance in regard to safeguarding children and young people.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and value the contribution that staff, governors and parents can make.
We work hard to ensure that our pupils feel secure, well cared for, and able to reach their full potential.
If you have any concerns at all about the safety or welfare of a child please do not hesitate to contact us.
At our school we are all responsible for keeping children safe and empowering them to be strong, resilient and listened to in an environment that protects them from harm.
Referrals to other agencies – when a concern is raised that a child might be at risk of harm, we have a duty of care and will always consult with Children’s First Contact Centre who will give us advice and may ask for us to make a referral to them. They have links with Childrens’s Services and the Police as well as other sypport agencies. All schools have a duty to report disclosures and signs of physical chastisement and follow advice given: we will always work with parents and assist those who require our support.

e-safety:
Children are using the internet more and more in their everyday lives, so it is never too early to teach children about E-Safety. We teach them to cross the road safely, to be safe in the sun, and not to talk to strangers. We should ensure we teach them how to stay safe online.
E-Safety is about teaching children how to use the Internet safely, not about restricting their use.
Together, we must make sure children remain safe online. Please take time to look at these resources, visit these websites and discuss them with your child. For further information please talk to Mrs Cooke.
