11 Mar Are our fingers magic?
The children in Year 2 are enjoying being scientists. They investigated what would happen when you sprinkled pepper not water. Most people predicted it would float. We found it floated as long as you sprinkled it gently, if you dropped it all in one place it didn’t float.
Then we predicted and investigated what happened if you put your finger in the water, first with a dry finger then with a wet soapy finger. We found that the soap “repels” the pepper, it looked like magic! It taught us the importance of washing our hands as the pepper shows us what happens to germs when we wash out hands.
What fun it is being a scientist !
